Daptone Records, con sede en Brooklyn, NY, es una de las discográficas más veneradas en el circuito soul y funk. Soul Brothers Six - Funky Funky Way of Makin' Love (70s)

John Ellison es hoy uno de los más respetados artistas de r&b/soul. A mediados de los años 60 viajó a Rochester, Nueva York, donde se unió a los Soul Brothers Five, quienes vieron a John no solo como el sexto miembro de la banda, sino como el alma que en los años sucesivos lideraría la formación. Las grabaciones de este disco reflejan un sentido musical diferente a lo que venían haciendo en los 60, mezclando heavy funk y hard soul. ¿Resultado?
